The annual championship has attracted nine teams.
The Vietnamese club is in Group A alongside Japan, Iran, Thailand and Myanmar.
Meanwhile, Group B consists of China, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan.
The nine-day tournament will also serve as the Asian qualifying round for the FIVB World Club Volleyball Championship later this year in Qatar.
Only the winning team will secure a berth, with Thailand favourites to defend their crown on home turf.
The pool round-robin preliminaries kick off on Saturday, with Malaysia taking on Sri Lanka. Other matches on opening day are Viet Nam-Myanmar, Kazakhstan-China and Japan-Thailand.
