HA NOI – (VNS) The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of southern Binh Thuan province have agreed on plans to build a National Beach Sports Centre in the province.
The centre will teach and train beach sports at an international level as well as host the Asian Beach Games in 2016.
As planned, the 20-ha centre will be built in Hong Thang Hamlet, Hoa Thang Commune in Bac Binh District. It is scheduled to come into operation in 2014.
The 2016 Asian Beach Games will be held in Nha Trang, Da Nang and Binh Thuan. It will be the second time Viet Nam hosts an Asia-level multi-sports event, after Ha Noi held the Asian Indoor Games in 2009 and Southeast Asian Games in 2003. – VNS
