DA NANG — Historical sources document Viet Nam's Paracel Archipelago, offering proof of the country's sovereignty over the islands. Such evidence is presented in the newly published Ky Yeu Hoang Sa (Summary Record of Paracel Islands).
Released by the Hoang Sa Island District's People Committee under Da Nang City, the 200-page book consists of four chapters, including Paracel Islands – Viet Nam's Sovereignty, The State Management over Paracel Islands, Paracel Islands and Historical Witnesses, and Love of Da Nang People for Paracel Islands.
Besides these valuable sources, the publication also reveals the stories of 24 people who worked and lived on the islands during the 1950s to 1970s.
According to the chairman of the Hoang Sa Island District's People Committee, Dang Cong Ngu, the book's release legally and scientifically affirms that islands are under Viet Nam's sovereignty. — VNS
