Budget carriers Jetstar Pacific and Air Mekong are adding more flights from HCM City and Ha Noi to tourist destinations around the country to meet the surging demand for air travel, particularly during weekends.

Jetstar Pacific announced on Thursday that it would operate 48 more flights to Da Nang from the two major metros in July, the peak summer vacation month, with the additional services on Thursdays through Sundays.

With the extra flights, Jetstar Pacific will have five daily flights between HCM City and Da Nang, one more than on its previous schedule. The frequency on the Ha Noi-Da Nang sector will double to twice daily.

Air Mekong has increased the number of weekly flights between Ha Noi and Phu Quoc to 10 and between HCM City and Con Dao to 12.

It has doubled the Ha Noi-Da frequency to two daily, and operates three daily flights from HCM City to Phu Quoc. —VNS
