HA NOI (VNS) — Local audiences will be treated to a fascinating summer concert series on June 19 as part of the fourth edition of the Cam Tay Mua He (Hold the Hands of Summer) music show, produced by composer Quoc Trung.

The show will feature veteran singer Huong Lan, girl band 5 Dong Ke and up and coming male singer Nguyen Dinh Thanh Tam.

Unlike previous concerts which focused on joint performances, producer Trung has invited Huong Lan, an overseas Vietnamese singer to join the upcoming concert.

According to Trung, Lan is well-known abroad and represents the traditional folklore music genre. Her performance of bolero songs that glorify the beauty of the country and cai luong (reformed opera) songs have helped raise the singer's profile. Lan will perform her top rating songs, including Da Co Hoai Lang and Ly Qua Keu.

The joint performances of Lan and Trung, who is an established composer in Viet Nam, is also set to wow music lovers with a blend of two distinctive musical styles.

But the concert will also highlight the famed girl band 5 Dong Ke. The band hails from Ha Noi, but has become well-known in HCM City.

Claiming the top spot on the television singing contest Sao Mai Diem Hen (Morning Star - Rendezvous) in 2012, Singer Tam will take to the stage to mark the singer's successful venture into the music industry since the competition.

Launched by Trung in 2012, Cam Tay Mua He has become a sold-out concert in Ha Noi.

This year's performances will take place at the Culture Palace on June 19. — VNS
