HA NOI (VNS)— Famed New Zealand chef Bobby Chinn, who is based in the UK, has been appointed Viet Nam's Tourism Ambassador to Europe between July 2014 and July 2017.
The announcement was made at a ceremony held on Thursday in London.
Chinn said he felt very proud of the new title and would try more to advertise Vietnamese cuisine, culture and tourism through his upcoming activities.
Born in 1964 in New Zealand , Bobby Chinn is well-known as a chef, restaurateur and cookbook author, who lived in Viet Nam from 1996 until he move to the UK.
He is also the presenter of the Discovery Network's Travel and Living and Bobby Chinn Cooks Asia.
He opened a high-end restaurant in Ha Noi in 2001 and another in Ho Chi Minh City in 2011.
Last year, he moved to London to open his new restaurant The House of Ho which features typical Vietnamese dishes for foreign friends to sample.— VNS
