QUANG NAM (VNS) — Nam Tra My District in the central province of Quang Nam will host the first Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival in a bid to boost tourism, agriculture, conservation and the development of Vietnamese ginseng.
Chairman of the district's People's Committee Ho Quang Buu told Viet Nam News that the festival would be organised biennially from August next year.
"The festival will be an opportunity to introduce local ginseng to foreign partners in order to expand the market," he said.
He said the festival would feature research into Vietnamese ginseng as well as local cuisine and cultural performances by ethnic groups living in the district.
Last year, Nam Tra My District signed a Memorandum of Understanding with South Korea's Hamyang County to develop local ginseng. — VNS
