DA NANG (VNS)— Five teams of students took final round berths at the National Robocon 2014 robot competition during the central and Central Highlands regional qualifying round on Saturday.
The teams represented Duy Tan University in Da Nang and Ha Tinh Technology College.
The regional qualifiers saw 20 teams competing in group competition at Da Nang University's Sport Centre over three days.
At the same time, qualifying rounds of the robocon competition were held in Ha Noi and HCM City.
According to the organising committee, competitors manipulated their robots to cross over seesaws, and to pole walk and swing to win overall points.
The final round of the national competition will be held in Nha Trang city next month.
Last year, HCM City-based Lac Hong University's LH-SEE team won the Viet Nam Robocon 2013 competition at Da Nang's Tuyen Son sports centre.
Viet Nam's team ranked second at last August's Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2013 (ABU Robocon) in Da Nang. — VNS
