HCM CITY (VNS) — A night of music and food will be organised on May 20 at HCM City's White Palace Convention Centre to raise funds to treat poor children with heart diseases around the country.

The highlight of the event organised as part of the Vet Seo Cuoc Doi 5 (Scar of Life 5) charity programme will be the performance of Quoc Bao's oratorio Lua (Silk) by Thanh Loc and other top singers like Nam Khanh, Hoang Bach, Dam Vinh Hung, Thao Trang, and Ai Phuong.

Launched by movie and pop star Ngo Thanh Van in 2010, Scar of Life has so far funded surgeries for 716 children.

Van has brought a jade Buddha statue from Myanmar for a charity auction at the event.
