HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese Grandmaster Le Quang Liem has dropped to world No 50 in the latest rankings released by the International Chess Federation.
However, Liem's Elo rating remains at 2,679 points.
The Elo rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in two-player games.
Former world blitz champion Liem was stopped in the third round of the recent World Chess Championships in Azerbaijan.
