HA NOI (VNS) — China beat Viet Nam in straight sets 25-15, 25-15, 25-9 at the 17th Asian Women U19 Volleyball Championship in Chinese Taipei.

Vietnamese players started strong despite having an average of just 174 centimetres, compared with the Chinese team's average height of 186 . Viet Nam initially won a three-point lead before their rivals bounced back. After a timeout a few minutes into the game, China quickly tilted the scales in their favour.

China's lead continued to increase and they won the set 25-15 quickly.

China dominated Viet Nam in the first few minutes of the second set, and quickly attained a 7-0 lead. Despite a timeout call, the Vietnamese failed to recover and China continued to score easily.

Viet Nam slowly adapted to China's game and bagged a few points. But their efforts were futile as China won the second set 25-15.

The third set began with Viet Nam taking control early. But China fought back and won the set 25-9.
