HA NOI (VNS) — The Football Channel Asia has chosen Vietnamese striker Ha Duc Chinh as one of the five best U19 players in the Southeast Asian region.
Chinh's performance won Viet Nam four goals at the ASEAN Football Federation's U19 Youth Championship in September. Later, he grabbed a hat trick at the Asian tournament 2016 in early October.
"Ha Duc Chinh is the top striker of Viet Nam's U19 in the AFF U19 Championship. However, he did not get much appreciation from the supporters after he missed many chances (to score) during this tournament," the website said.
"However, coach Hoang Anh Tuan still had faith in him for the AFC U19 Championship qualifiers campaign, and Chinh rewarded this faith with two goals to help Viet Nam beat Hong Kong, 3-1, in the opening match.
"In the last game against Myanmar, he also scored the only goal, helping Viet Nam win the match, 1-0, and qualify for the finals as Group G winners."
Other players on the top five U19 list are Irfan Fandi of Singapore, Muhammad Chew of Malaysia and Suksan Mungpao and Worachit Kanitsribampen of Thailand.
