HA NOI (VNS) — La Chanson de Fribourg, a 30-member Swiss choir specialising in music from the Alps, will perform folk songs for one night only on October 8 in Ha Noi.
The European artists will sing about 20 songs praising friendship, love, peace and the beauty of nature. The concert will include the popular Leonard Cohen song Halleluiah, as well as music from Hungary, Spain, Egypt and France.
Their performance will start at 8pm at the Viet Nam Youth Theatre, 11 Ngo Thi Nham. Free tickets are available at the Viet Nam Performing Arts Centre, 32 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street.
La Chanson de Fribourg is well-known both in and out of Switzerland. It has toured all around the world, from the US, Canada and Brazil to Japan. The choir has also made a home performing in Swiss and international cultural and political events.
La Chanson de Fribourg's repertoire also includes hundreds of songs written by its founder, Pierre Kaelin, and his nephew Pierre Huwiler. — VNS
