HA NOI -- Producer Quoc Trung will launch his new project The Root with a concert on September 1 at Ha Noi Opera House

A group of artists including Vietnamese pop diva Thanh Lam; French guitarist Nguyen Le; Tunisian musician Dhafer Youssef and German percussion artist Rhani Krija will perform.

The project also includes two albums, which will be released both in Viet Nam and internationally in early 2013, and performances at international music festivals, through which the producer aims to introduce Vietnamese folk music to a wider audience.

"The Root will be a cross-over music project between Viet Nam and the world. It will be a chance for Vietnamese young artists to co-operate with international artists," said Trung. -- VNS
