HA NOI (VNS) — The Vietnamese Culture Days event will take place in Russia from June 24 to July 2, according to a recent decision made by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The Vietnamese Cultural Days event in Russia in 2014 will feature art and other activities, such as performances of traditional and modern music, and traditional martial arts; a fashion show; an exhibition of lacquer paintings; workshops on Viet Nam – Russia co-operation in culture and art; and programmes to promote Viet Nam's tourism there.
Of note is the Days of Vietnamese Films programme that will showcase six typical works of Vietnamese cinematography to the audience in Russia.
Over the past few years, the cultural relations between Viet Nam and Russia have improved continuously with numerous cultural exchanges.
The event is expected to help the Russian people to learn more about and feel closer to Viet Nam and its people, strengthening the mutual understanding among people of both the countries as well as accelerating co-operation in culture and tourism.
An official press conference on the event will be held tomorrow at the headquarters of the ITAR-TASS news agency in Moscow in the presence of Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia, Pham Xuan Son.
The event is organised by the culture ministry together with the Viet Nam Theatre of Contemporary Art, the Viet Nam National Academy of Music, the Department of Cinematography, the Viet Nam National Institute of Culture and Art, and the Viet Nam Fine Arts Museum. — VNS
