Cycling race celebrates Dien Bien Phu victory

HA NOI (VNS) — A national cycling tournament, called Return to Dien Bien 2014-People's Army Newspaper Cup, is scheduled to kick off on May 1.

The event has attracted the participation of 170 male and female cyclists from nine women's 13 men's teams nationwide including famous names like Domesco Dong Thap and An Giang Plant Protection.

The cyclists will compete in six stages. The first race will begin at Ha Noi's Hoan Kiem Lake and the final one will end at the Dien Bien Phu City on May 6.

The event aims to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory over the French colonialists. — VNS
