The first charter flight from Novorsibirk, Russia, to Da Nang landed last Saturday carrying 70 tourists.

The coastal city will host 54 charter flights this year with a total 12,000 Russian tourists visiting the heritage sites in the central region.

Representatives of 70 Russian travel agencies have visited Da Nang on two direct flights from Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk this week to survey the quality of service.

Over 40,000 Russian tourists have visited the coastal cities of Phan Thiet and Nha Trang, but it is expected that Da Nang will become a favourite destination and attract them in record numbers next year. — VNS
