DA NANG (VNS) — South Africa's team lit up the sky with a rainbow and musical performance at the opening ceremony of the 2015 Da Nang International Fireworks Competition last night.
The 20-minute performance entitled "Blue Sky of Africa," lit up the Han River and was seen by over 30,000 attendances at the fireworks party.
The team had also put up a spectacular display at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Following South Africa, the U.S. team called Pyrotec-nico continued the night with romantic fireworks reminiscent of love ballads.
Their performance featured pyrotechnic waterfall effects over the sky of Da Nang city.
The host, Da Nang - Viet Nam, concluded the first night with the Symphony of Colours performance, accompanied by folk songs of Viet Nam. The performance highlighted Viet Nam's beautiful landscapes and strong spirited people.
The Symphony of Colours, the title of the competition, has drawn five teams from five continents—South Africa, the United States, Australia, Poland and Viet Nam—who are all competing for two nights.
The second and final night will see performances from the Australian and Polish teams. — VNS
