HCM CITY (VNS) — Vietnamese American Daniel Nguyen defeated Adrian Menendez Maceiras of Spain to secure a ticket to compete in the men's singles quarter-finals of the Viet Nam Tennis Open in HCM City yesterday.
World No 248 Nguyen crushed No 3 seed Maceiras 6-3, 5-7, 6-1.
In the first round of men's doubles, Nguyen Hoang Thien and Nguyen Minh Tuan lost to Saketh Myneni and Sanam Singh of India 6-0, 6-2.
Earlier, Thien lost to Liang Chi Huang of Chinese Taipei in the men's singles, first round.
