HA NOI (VNS) — Hai Phong's defender Nguyen Van Nam has been suspended and fined VND15 million (US$700) for violence during a Toyota V.League 1 match on August 15.
The round 21 match was between Quang Ninh Coal and Hai Phong.
Nam received two yellow cards and was sent off.
The Viet Nam Football Federation's disciplinary board said it has banned Nam from playing till the end of the event (the national premier league has five more rounds).
It is the second time Nam has been suspended by the disciplinary board.
At last year's event, Nam and three teammates were suspended following a scuffle between Ha Noi T&T and Hai Phong in the V-League's round 17. — VNS
