HA NOI (VNS) — Defender Vo Huy Toan won't see any more play time in the ongoing Asian Games (ASIAD) in Incheon, South Korea.
Doctors of the Vietnamese Olympic team said it would take Toan at least three weeks to recover from an ankle injury, a timeframe that puts him back on the field after the ASIAD come to a close.
Toan scored Viet Nam's first goal in the first Group H match against Iran on Monday. Viet Nam built off Toan's goal to beat Iran by 4-1. He left the pitch in the first half after an Iranian defender clashed with him by error.
Viet Nam will play Kyrgyzstan for the second match on September 22. — VNS
