Hanoian badminton player Le Thu Huyen created a stir in the women's singles at the national tournament for best players, known as the Li Ning Cup, when she beat defending champion Vu Thi Trang of Bac Giang in the final on Friday in Hai Duong Province.

Trang took home gold in the women's double after she and her partner beat Nguyen Thi Be Tram and Nguyen Thi Be Duyen of the Military.

The men's events saw the domination of players from HCM City. Nguyen Tien Minh was crowned champion in the men's singles and the duo of Duong Bao Duc and Nguyen Hoang Nam won the men's doubles. — VNS
