HA NOI (VNS) — The grand Indian festival of Diwali, dubbed the Festival of Lights, will be celebrated in Ha Noi on Saturday night.
The festival will entertain participants with Indian cultural programmes for both adults and children, with the highlight being Bollywood dances performed by Indians as well as Vietnamese people.
Apart from the Indian attractions, Vietnamese and Western cuisine will be served during the event.
On the occasion, Indian rock band Girish and The Chronicles will heat up the festival stage.
They will regale the audience with rock 'n' roll, hard rock and classical rock music genres. Their performances will include songs by famous rock bands such as AC/DC, Guns N Roses, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, and original songs from their recently launched album, Back on Earth.
More than 1,000 distinguished guests from all walks of life and nations, especially the vibrant expat and Vietnamese community, are expected to attend the celebrations, according to Rajeev Garg, chairman of the Indian Business Chamber in Viet Nam (INCHAM).
Diwali is celebrated not only in India, but around the world. It has regular patrons from the local as well as the expat community in Viet Nam. The annual event has become part of Viet Nam's cultural calendar.
The festival will be organised by INCHAM and the Indian community at American Club, 19-21 Hai Ba Trung Street, Ha Noi.
Tickets are available at the gate of the venue. INCHAM will donate part of the proceeds to charity. — VNS
