VUNG TAU (VNS) —Dog racing is scheduled to begin in the coastal city of Vung Tau on September 2.

The event is expected to attract 300 greyhounds competing for two cups at level A-B and C-D with a total prize money of VND300 million (US$14,000).

Dog racing was introduced to Viet Nam by the Sport and Entertainment Service Company and was officially licensed in 2001 in Vung Tau.

The dog track and training centre in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau is the only one in the Southeast Asia.-VNS
