DONG NAI — Artisans from the XQ Embroidery Company on Monday presented a giant tapestry to representatives of southern Dong Nai Province at the Tran Bien Temple of Literature in Bien Hoa City.
The tapestry, which honours the Tran Bien Temple of Literature is inspired by a photo of the temple taken by Duong Quoc Dinh. The Temple of Literature was founded in the 17th century as a university for students in southern Viet Nam.
The image was designed by five artists and was completed by six artisans over a period of three years. It is 1.7m high, 3.7m wide and weighs more than 52kg. The work aims to honour the Vietnamese art of traditional hand embroidery.
