HA NOI (VNS) — Dong Nhi was awarded the Special Prize at live music reality show The Remix's first season 2015 last night in HCM City.
Dong Nhi was also voted the ‘most favorite' by the audience, who followed and supported the singer and her team during 11 live shows on Viet Nam Television's Channel 3.
The winning team comprises singer Dong Nhi and DJ Mike Hao, supported by music producer Do Hieu. The team beat singer Giang Hong Ngoc's team, singer Isaac's team and singer Toc Tien's team.
The Special Prize of VND300 million (roughly US$15,000) in cash was given to the winners, while the Golden, Silver and Bronze prizes went to the above-mentioned teams, respectively.
The Remix is a music talent show, produced by VTV and Cat Tien Sa Company, with the original show being in Turkish.
"I have to thank many people at The Remix, especially singer Ong Cao Thang. He was always with me, helping me to improve every week," Dong Nhi said.
She plans to organise a party to thank the organisers, her fans and the mass communication team that created favourable conditions for her during the game.
Nhi will also launch a new music video Vi Ai Vi Anh (Because Of Whom, Because of You) on Sunday. The music video has been produced with 3D technology.
Emerging as an online star, the 27-year-old singer has been successfully launched by the entertainment industry.
Her real name is Mai Hong Ngoc. With a not-too-wonderful voice and song-writing skills, her first songs such as Khoc (Cry), Boi Roi (Embarrassment) and Bi Mat Cua Hanh Phuc (Secret of Happiness) were warmly received by the online community.
Her first album The First Step was named the Top 10 Album of The Year in 2010 at the music website's Zing Music Awards 2010.
Her career took a major leap in 2014, with the music video Bad Boy. A day after its launch, the video was viewed about 500,000 times on the zing.vn website and 200,000 times on YouTube.
The video was the ranked fifth on the Chinese Youku website, with more than 300,000 views. — VNS
