They defeated teammates Thai Thi Tuyet Hoa and Truong Huynh Quoc Cuong, 21-14, 21-0.
It was the third gold medal for Dong Thap, which won the men's and women's doubles last December 3.
Five other badminton event categories will be organised in the coming days.
In the Vietnamese martial art of vovinam, Can Tho won the women's fight of four with weapon event with 270 points. Ben Tre came in second with 264 and Khanh Hoa came in third with 259.
After five days, Ha Noi placed first in the tally with 56 gold medals. HCM City narrowed their gap with the leader with 50 gold medals while the Military team placed third with 26 gold medals.
The Games, which are held every four years, will kick off in Nam Dinh Province today. — VNS
