Veteran Dutch footballer Edgar Davids has visited HCM City as an ambassador for Tiger Street Football 2012, an international tournament for street football players.

Veteran Dutch footballer Edgar Davids has visited HCM City as an ambassador for Tiger Street Football 2012, an international tournament for street football players.

After meeting Vietnamese fans today, he will enjoy matches in the final round of the tournament at September 23 Park tomorrow.

Four local teams that topped the national tournament will compete against champions from Brazil, Argentina, Malaysia, China, Singapore and Thailand for total prize money of VND1 billion (US$47,960).

Davids, born in 1973, started his career at Ajax Amsterdam at the age of 18. He has played for Italy's AC Milan and Juventus, Spain's Barcelona and England's Tottenham Hotspur.

He is wellknown for his masterful skill and speed. During his career, he played 74 times for the Netherlands at international level. He was chosen to be put on a list of 100 greatest living footballers of FIFA by Brazil's Pele in 2004.-VNS
