DA NANG (VNS)– The Duy Tan University team defeated Da Nang Teachers' Training College 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regular time to win the Huda Cup Student Football tournament on Thursday.

The Duy Tan team, who walked away with a cash-prize of VND6 million (US$290), will qualify for the final round of the Central Region Student Football tournament to be held in Nghe An Province next month.

The Central Region Student Football tournament has drawn 42 teams from Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Hue and Da Nang, who are competing in provincial qualifiers in two months from March to May.

Eight teams will take berths in the final round.

It's the eighth time the Hue Brewery Company has sponsored for the central region student football tournament. - VNS
