HA NOI (VNS)— A temple to commemorate Emperor Quang Trung (1753-92) will be built in Dong Da Culture Park, a historic relic site in Ha Noi's Dong Da District.
The temple will lower in height than the statue of Emperor Quang Trung, which was erected in the park about 20 years ago to mark the Ngoc Hoi-Dong Da victory over the Chinese Qing invaders.
In the early spring of 1789, Nguyen Hue, who was later proclaimed Emperor Quang Trung, launched a surprise attack and defeated more than 29,000 Qing soldiers in a five-day battle during the lunar New Year.-VNS
