HA NOI (VNS) — An essay and quiz contest on Cuba has just been launched for all Vietnamese people to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The contest, which will be open from August 24 to November 15, requires competitors to write an essay on the special friendship and comprehensive co-operation between the two countries in the past and on what should be done to enhance the relationship.

The essay should be emailed to timhieucuba@gmail.com or mailed to the International Co-operation Department, Radio the Voice of Viet Nam, 58 Quan Su Street.

While the first prize is VND30 million (US$1,360), there will be two second prizes of VND15 million and two third prizes of VND10 million each.

There will be a weekly quiz, which will include a question on Cuba with some answers for the competitors to choose from. They will also have to guess the number of people participating in the contest.

All results will be announced on Radio the Voice of Viet Nam and the vov.vn online newspaper. — VNS
