HA NOI (VNS)— Traditional folk culture from Hoi An City in the central province of Quang Nam will spice up the annual Mid-Autumn festival held at the Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology this weekend.

The festival has a different theme each year. This year, children will be introduced to Hoi An and Quang Nam's cultural features through folk games, folk songs and traditional cuisine.

As usual, children and parents can learn to make toys. Artisans invited by the Hoi An Culture and Sports Centre will show how they make toys and traditional dishes.

As many as 25 folk games collected from different regions will be introduced and displayed throughout. — VNS

Old Quarter gets into the spirit

The Ha Noi Old Quarter will host many activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival from now to the end of this month.

Folk games, children's paintings and traditional toys such as five-star lanterns and to he (toy figurines) will be shown at Dong Lac Temple, 38 Hang Dao Street.

Kim Ngan Temple at 42 Hang Bac Street will also host activities with performances of ca tru (ceremonial singing) in the evenings.

The Old Quarter Information Centre at 28 Hang Buom Street will show how puppets are made and feature demonstrations by artisans from Te Tieu Village, My Duc District, Ha Noi.

The UNESCO recognised Heritage House at 87 Ma May Street will display paintings created from torn papers by a group of young painters. — VNS
