HA NOI — Nearly 200 photographs, documents and artefacts depicting the life and career of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, the leader of Russia's Socialist Revolution, are on display at an exhibition that opened in Ha Noi on Friday.

The exhibition, jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh Museum and Russia's Lenin Memorial House, is to mark the 142nd birthday of the great leader of the world's proletarian revolution as well as Viet Nam's revolution.

The exhibition highlights the solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and the former Soviet Union as well as present day Russia.

Viet Nam's renewal process, under the influence of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideas, are also highlighted at the exhibition.

Dr Chu Duc Tinh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, said the exhibition shows the Vietnamese people's respect for Lenin as well as his theories.

Perfilov Valery, Deputy Director of the Lenin Memorial House, said he hopes to receive support from the Ho Chi Minh Museum to hold a similar event on President Ho Chi Minh in the Russian city of Ulyanovsk this May.

In 1987, a street was named after President Ho Chi Minh in Ulyanovsk and a statue of him is also located there. — VNS
