HCM CITY — A painting exhibition of works on patriotic themes opened on Wednesday at the HCM City Fine Arts Museum, an annual activity organised by the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association.

It displays 146 paintings and sculptures by 118 HCM City-based artists on select topics including "Studying and Following President Ho Chi Minh's Principles", Viet Nam's islands and seas, other landscapes, lifestyle and traditional culture.

The association awarded several prizes at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

The "A" prize went to Tinh Dat Va Lua (Love of Land and Fire) by Lam Thanh, while two "B" prizes were given to installation sculpture Mat (Eye) by Tran Viet Hung and silk painting Cho Noi (Floating Market) by Nguyen Dang Khoat.

The exhibition will remain open until August 14 at the Fine Arts Museum, which is located at 97A Pho Duc Chinh Street in District 1.-VNS
