HA NOI (VNS) — An art exhibition featuring renowned Vietnamese generals will open on Monday at the Exhibition Hall, 45 Trang Tien Street, Ha Noi.
The event is being held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Viet Nam People's Army in 1944.
Entitled Vietnamese Renowned Generals through Art Works, the exhibition is being organised by the Viet Nam Military History Museum in conjunction with the Vietnamese Association of Historical Science and the Heritage Club-House.
The exhibition aims to honour outstanding Vietnamese generals of different historical periods, including General Vo Nguyen Giap and General Nguyen Chi Thanh, through sculptures and works of lacquer, oil on canvas, water colour, and applied fine arts.
Numerous documentary images depicting the generals, in particular, will be made public for the first time. Visitors will have a chance to view the works of famous painters such as Ha Huy Le, Nguyen Doan Son, Tran Tuan Long and Phan Ke An.
The exhibits will provide the visitors a deep insight into the national battles in general, and the establishment and development of the People's Army over the past 70 years in particular.
This will also be a chance for different generations to look back at the glorious tradition, history and feats of the Army. It will arouse feelings of patriotism and pride for the heroic Army. — VNS
