HA NOI — Miss Sport 2012 Lai Huong Thao,will represent Viet Nam in the Miss Supranational 2012 competition which opened yesterday in Poland and will run until September 15.

Born in the northern province of Quang Ninh, the 21-year-old beauty is 1.67m tall and weighs 54kg. She is currently a student of an university in Hai Phong.

She spent two hours a day doing physical exercises to prepare for the contest. She intends to perform dancing with a fan at the Miss Talent section.

She will also dance with silk ribbon in Poland, an act that helped her win Miss Sport 2012.

Thao is highly regarded for her body, face and efforts. As she says: "I don't have to succeed, but I'll keep trying to the end."

Miss Supranational was first organised in 2009. It is one of the world's six biggest beauty contests. This year, entrants from 58 nations have already registered. — VNS
