HA NOI (VNS) — The 2015 Spring Newspaper Festival, an annual cultural and media event, will be held at the Viet Nam Exhibition and Fair Centre in Ha Noi from February 7-10.
Some 120 booths will display publications for the spring festival and Lunar New Year, published by 65 central and local press agencies across the country.
The publications, including magazines, both print and pictorial editions, audio and television products and online newspapers, will highlight achievements that the Party, people and army reported last year, as well as plans and goals for the nation's development.
Also at the exhibition, numerous seminars and discussions on the press will be organised, along with exchanges between press agencies and readers.
During the festival, a wide range of cultural, arts and sports activities will also be held to serve the capital's citizens. Additionally, representatives from Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Nghe An and Hoa Binh provinces will perform singing, which has been recognised as part of the country's world heritage.
Currently, Viet Nam has 845 print newspaper agencies with 1,118 publications, a national news agency and 67 central and local radio and television stations, along with nearly 18,000 journalists granted press cards and some 5,000 other reporters. — VNS
