Five-day fair features audio, video products in HCM City

The Phuong Nam Film Company opened its annual fair of audio and video CDs and DVDs at the HCM City Labour Culture House on Wednesday.

HCM CITY (VNS) — The Phuong Nam Film Company opened its annual fair of audio and video CDs and DVDs at the HCM City Labour Culture House on Wednesday.

The five-day fair showcases works from Vietnamese recording companies and encourages visitors to not use illegal copies of works and to care more about property copyrights.

The fair will sell audiobooks and a wide collection of instrumental, traditional and folk music, as well as music for children performed by local and international composers, musicians and singers.

It features a series of nine CDs of romantic songs by late composer Pham Duy, which were first released in 2012.

Among the offerings are five Ocarina CDs with Diego Modena on the ocarina and Jean Phillips Audin on cello. They were produced by French record label Delphine Records.

Music CDs and English learning and entertainment programmes for children imported from Singapore are also expected to be popular draws at the fair as summer gifts.

High-quality movie DVDs with Vietnamese subtitles distributed by major Hollywood studios, Warner Bros and 20th Century Fox, including The Avengers and Iron Man, will be on sale for the first time in the country.

Prices on all new audios and videos have been discounted by 10-30 per cent, while older products are VND5,000-15,000.

The fair is at 55B Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street in District 1. — VNS
