HAI PHONG (VNS) — The fourth annual Flamboyant Festival was kicked off in the northern port city of Hai Phong to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the city's liberation from the French on May 13, 1955.
An art show, gathering the most notable artists in the north and a mass parade attracting 1,600 local residents opened the three-day festival on Saturday night. A fireworks show then lit up the city's sky.
Various cultural activities, such as a mass sports dance, aerobics demonstration, hiphop, a trumpet show, setting birds free, body-building championships and new tours around the city were organised yesterday and will continue today. — VNS
