As many as 235 local and foreign tennis players will take part in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Men's Future Series Tournament from April 2-8 at the Tanimex court complex in HCM City.

Based on ATP rankings, 18 players will move on to the main round, 26 competitors will participate in the qualifying round and 191 are on the waiting list.

World No 134 Ervand Gasparyan from Russia is seeded No 1.

Three wild cards will be given to Vietnamese players Do Minh Quan, Nguyen Hoang Thien and Ly Hoang Nam.

The total prize money is US$10,000.

In April, Viet Nam will host two more tournaments in the ATP Men's Future Series.

ATP is an organisation of the world's top male tennis professionals, which governs most of the tournaments on the men's tour with the exception of the Grand Slams. — VNS
