HCM CITY (VNS)– A special concert for youth in HCM City will feature the New World Symphony by Czech composer Antonin Dvorak at the Opera House on May 29.
The show is part of a learning programme attended by 900 youths organised by HCM City Symphony and Ballet Theatre at the end of each month.
Antonin Leopold Dvorak (1841-1904) composed the New World Symphony in 1893 while he was director of the National Conservatory of Music of America.
It is by far his most popular symphony, and one of the most popular in romantic repertoire. In older literature and recordings, this symphony is often indicated as Symphony No 5.
