HA NOI (VNS) — The Parisii Quartet, well known in Europe and particularly in France, will perform in a classical concert in Ha Noi on June 7 to introduce their music to the Vietnamese audience.
The quartet, comprising Arnaud Vallin (first violin), Doriane Gable (second violin), Dominique Lobet (viola) and Jean-Philippe Martignoni (cello), will play the works of composers Boccherini, Haydn, Webern, Debussy, Campo and Glass, and Schubert's Girl and Death.
Founded by four students from the National Conservatory of Paris, the Quartet celebrated its 30th anniversary with many performances in different countries.
They have excellence and maturity in their performances and are reputed for playing both instrumental and chamber music.
Based on a shared ambition of excellence and eclecticism, the Parisii musicians have developed a repertoire of impressive breadth and unequalled quality of interpretation over the years, placing them amongst the greatest performers.
It is the only string quartet worldwide offering a live performance of the Book for String Quartet, the incredibly complex full work of P Boulez.
Convinced of the importance of supporting musical creativity, the Parisii musicians actively contribute towards popularising a number of contemporary composers.
They have received many awards, including the Charles Cros Great Prize (2002) and Music Victory Award (1994).
The quartet won the first prize at the Evian and Munich Competitions in 1987, beating many other famous quartets. This victory opened the doors to a series of intense chamber music performances, numbering more than 100 concerts per year across 80 countries.
The concert will take place at L'Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street, Ha Noi. — VNS
