HA NOI - Jonas Alber will lead the Vietnamese Orchestra on German Opera Night in Ha Noi from March 9 to 10.
At both shows, to start by 8pm at the Hanoi Opera House, the orchestra will play famous works including Mozart's Magic flute, Beethoven's Fidelio and Wagner's Flying Dutch.
Alber was General Music Director at the State Theater Braunschweig in Germany from 1998 -2007, the youngest person to have held the position at the time. He has since worked with famous orchestras around the world.
In 2010 and 2011, he successfully led the Vietnamese National Symphony Orchestra in two Beethoven symphonies.
Vietnamese singers Nguyen Anh Vu (tenor), Ha Pham Thang Long (soprano) To Loan (soprano), Le Thi Vanh Khuyen (mezzo soprano) and Vu Manh Dung (baritone) will take part in the forthcoming event.
Tickets are available at VND100,000-500,000 (US$5-25) each and sold at the Ha Noi Opera House and the Goethe Institute. – VNS
