HCM CITY (VNS) — German film director and producer Niko von Glasow will talk about the art of filmmaking and story-telling at the Saigon International Film School next Tuesday.

The event will screen Glasow's latest film Shoot Me. Kiss Me. Cut! which depicts 12 young filmmakers trying to achieve fame and fortune.

"There are thousands and thousands of films, and nobody needs more filmmakers – there are just too many. So if you do not have the guts to go really far with it, then don't do it," he said.

Born in Cologne in 1960, Glasow studied film at New York University and at the National Film School in Lodz, Poland.

His first feature film in 1991, Wedding Guests won the German Critics Prize at Berlin Film Festival. A founder of the Tibetan Film School, he holds talks and workshops in scriptwriting and directing around the world.

He is currently a member of BAFTA, the European Film Academy, and the German Film Academy.
