Gouache makes comeback with a visit to Hoi An Silk Village

HOI AN  (VNS) — The exhibition, Gouache on Used Newspapers, will move to Hoi An Silk Village on August 15-29.

Event organisers said 13 Vietnamese artists from Gallery 39 in Ha Noi will display 24 art works at the two-week exhibition.

Gouache, an opaque watercolour paint, was a cheap and popular material used to paint over old newspapers in Viet Nam in the 60s and 70s.

The exhibition will start at 6pm this Saturday at the Living Silk Weaving Museum, 28 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street.

The exhibition were earlier on display in Ha Noi and Hai Phong in June — VNS
