Government bans raunchy costumes

The Government has moved to prevent too much of the human body being revealed by models, singers and dancers on stage and in music videos.

HA NOI (VNS)— The Government has moved to prevent too much of the human body being revealed by models, singers and dancers on stage and in music videos.

It has also banned pre-recorded music and lip synching at live shows.

In a new decree, the Government explains and regulates what is prohibited for individuals and organisers and outlines Government permit procedures for organising art shows, beauty contests and music videos.

Show organisers must document the content of their production and present it to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism at least five days before the event. The organisers are also required to pay copyright fees where required.

The decree states that no more than two national level beauty contests are permitted each year and three at regional and sector levels. Each province can organise only one beauty contest a year.

Hosting of an international beauty contest will be considered, based on conditions of the host locality. — VNS
