HAI PHONG (VNS) (VNS) — Phan Thi Ha Thanh pocketed a bronze medal at the seventh FIG Art Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Doha, Qatar.

The Vietnamese athlete, ranked fifth after the qualification, earned 13.875 points in the final to take her beam medal in the final.

Meanwhile, European champion Larisa Iordache won the title with 14,850 points. Iordache also won the floor and vault events.

This is the first world medal for the Hai Phong City girl, who previously won the world and Asian titles in the vault event.

This year, Thanh failed in her strong sport of vaulting, which saw her disqualified for the finals.

Viet Nam also sent other athletes to Doha, though none of them finished in the top three positions. — VNS
