HA NOI (VNS) — Ha Long Bay has been listed among the world's 48 most striking World Heritage sites, according to msn.com.
According to the website, "Ha Long Bay is a popular destination in Viet Nam's Quang Ninh Province. Ha Long Bay includes some 1,600 islands and islets, most of which are limestone. This exceptionally beautiful and appealing site was designated a World Heritage Site in 1994."
Other Southeast Asian sites named in the list include Cambodia's Angkor Wat, Borobudur's temple compounds in Indonesia and the rice terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras in the Philippines. — VNS
