HA NOI (VNS) — The Ha Noi team's first-place finish at the National Athletics Championships, which wrapped up in HCM City yesterday, owes much to star athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh.
Of Ha Noi's 14 gold medals, the 19-year-old runner Oanh contributed six golds and won the title of best athlete at the event.
On the last day of competition, Oanh took gold in the women's 200m with a time of 23.54sec. It was her best time in this race to date.
Oanh also bagged golds in 100m, 4x200m, 4x400m, 400m and 400m hurdle.
The Military team finished second with seven golds, and Thanh Hoa ranked third with four golds.
The five-day tournament involved 400 athletes from 44 teams nationwide, competing in 50 medal events. — VNS
