HA NOI (VNS) — The first "Memory of Ha Noi" event will bring to life the images and culture of the ancient Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, the municipal department of tourism (DoT) said.
The event will be held at the Imperial Citadel from December 30 to January 4, 2016.
Being jointly organised by the DoT and the Centre for Thang Long-Ha Noi Heritage Conservation, the festival will feature art installations that recreate the Old Quarter, old villages and houses in the city, along with exhibitions of traditional handicrafts and costumes.
A space dedicated to the culture of Hanoians will have the model of an ancient house surrounded by fences, flowers and greenery. Its interior will be designed for worship and drinking tea, a spiritual tradition and cultural pastime still valued by Hanoians today.
A flea market will showcase items dating back 100 years.
Several music performances are also planned during the festival. — VNS
